EQ-i Assessment

Most of us know how we want to show up. Under pressure it can come out differently.

You feel misunderstood more often than you should. The same pressure that rolled off you last month flattened you this week. You're doing everything right and it isn't landing.

About the tool

An Ongoing Partner, Experience Behind the Interpretation

An assessment is only as good as the person reading it. In the wrong hands the data can be dangerous. Organizations use us as their ongoing EQ-i preferred supplier because of what we bring to the interpretation: years in human resources, years of coaching, and the industry experience to know what the results actually mean in your business. It’s open to any organization. Contact us for pricing solutions.

Lead from your strengths. See the rest clearly.

We start with what's already working well, and identify the one or two things worth naming so they stop quietly working against you.

Who it is for

If you're looking at this for your organization

You're trying to shape who your future leaders actually are, not just promote whoever's next in line.

You want hiring and promotion decisions grounded in something more than gut instinct.

You're building a bench of leaders and want development that actually sticks.

You've got a strong technical leader who's struggling with the people side.

If you're looking at this for yourself:

You want to know what your real strengths are, and whether you're actually leaning into them.

You got feedback recently that's still sitting with you.

You feel like you're not moving ahead in your career the way you'd hoped.

Sometimes this just helps someone see clearly that they're in the wrong job, and that's a real, valid reason to do it too.

"It's one thing to have the competencies. It's another to have the emotional bandwidth to use them, especially in unsafe or high-stress environments."

Peter Salovey, Sterling Professor of Psychology and former President, Yale University

Why does emotional intelligence matter?

Psychologists Peter Salovey and John Mayer, who coined the term in 1990, defined it as "the ability to monitor one's own and others' feelings and emotions" — and to use that awareness to guide how you think and act. Since then, dozens of independent studies have confirmed the same thing in practice: leaders with stronger emotional intelligence lead more effectively, build stronger teams, and make better decisions under pressure.

The assessment itself is registered with the British Psychological Society and audited against European Federation of Psychologists' Associations criteria. The broader case is well established: the quality of the relationship between a leader and the people they lead is linked to performance, commitment, role clarity, and whether people intend to stay (Gerstner & Day, 1997). Understanding how someone is wired is one way to build that.

The assessment itself takes under 20 minutes. Your debrief session is 75 minutes, one-on-one.

Essential Insight is $495 and Leader Development is $695. These rates apply to individual purchases. Organizations running multiple assessments qualify for partner rates, so please contact us directly.
